Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and detailed patient assessments to determine health status and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following established protocols and safety standards.
- Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, spinal taps, catheterizations, and dermal filler injections with precision and sterile technique.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across specialties such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and critical care environments including ICU and trauma centers.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and billing processes.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists in gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient treatment plans.
- Assist in discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and patient education to optimize recovery and long-term health outcomes.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at advancing evidence-based practices within the organization.
Experience
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (Level I & II trauma centers), emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and order entry.
- Strong background in managing complex cases involving acute pain management, infection control protocols, dialysis procedures, ventilator management, and ICU care.
- Experience performing diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing or medical imaging techniques such as sonography or laboratory specimen processing.
- Familiarity with CPT coding standards for billing purposes along with ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
- Skilled in performing advanced procedures like spinal taps, tube feeding management, phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing techniques for infection control purposes.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and utilization review processes is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory care & dementia), individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized nursing interventions.
- Critical care experience including ICU or trauma center exposure is preferred; experience in emergency medicine or urgent care is a plus.
- Strong understanding of physiology principles related to patient assessment and diagnosis across multiple specialties such as cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (ophthalmology procedures), or occupational health settings.
