Position: Busser
Location: Sonia’s Seafood – Miami, FL
Reports To: General Manager / Assistant Manager / Floor Manager
Position Summary
The Busser is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, resetting tables, and supporting the service team to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
This role also supports food running during service , helping ensure guests receive their meals quickly and accurately.
The Busser plays a critical role in guest experience by maintaining a clean, organized dining area and assisting with overall service flow.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on support role that requires urgency, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Dining Room Maintenance & Table Service
- Clear tables quickly and efficiently after guests leave
- Reset tables according to restaurant standards
- Ensure tables, chairs, and surrounding areas are clean and presentable
- Maintain cleanliness of dining room and outdoor seating areas
- Assist with maintaining a guest-ready environment at all times
Food Running & Service Support
- Run food from the kitchen to tables quickly and accurately when needed
- Ensure dishes are delivered to the correct table
- Confirm orders visually before delivering to guests
- Communicate with kitchen and servers to support smooth service flow
- Assist in maintaining speed of service during busy periods
Support for Servers & FOH Team
- Assist servers with clearing plates and table maintenance
- Help refill water and support guest needs when appropriate
- Support overall FOH operations to maintain flow
- Communicate with team members to prioritize tasks
- Assist with maintaining service stations and supplies
Cleanliness & Organization
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, service stations, and common areas
- Clean spills immediately and ensure safe, dry walkways
- Assist with trash removal and disposal
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms as assigned
- Follow cleaning schedules and side work duties
Operational Support
- Restock service stations with utensils, napkins, condiments, and supplies
- Ensure all areas are stocked and ready for service
- Assist with opening and closing duties
Support overall restaurant organization

- Assist guests when needed or direct them to the appropriate team member

Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction
Language Requirements
- Spanish preferred
- Basic English preferred
Schedule & Availability
- Full-time or part-time positions available
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be available for opening, mid, and closing shifts
- Ability to work 6–10+ hour shifts

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (6–10+ hours)
- Ability to carry trays, plates, and supplies (up to 50 lbs)
