Job Summary
Youth Driving Schools is seeking dependable, safety-focused, and professional individuals to join our growing team as Class D Driving Instructors.
We are looking for serious candidates committed to punctuality, professionalism, student success, and high-quality driver education. Applicants who speak Spanish or another language are strongly encouraged to apply.
Current or former law-enforcement professionals, public-school teachers, and school bus drivers are our highest-priority candidates and are strongly encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Must have held a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least five years
- Must have a clean driving record for the past five years, with no accidents—at fault or not at fault—and no traffic violations
- Must pass all required lifetime criminal background checks with no disqualifying offences
- Must meet all licensing and eligibility requirements established by the Ohio Department of Public Safety
- Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and committed to safety
- Must be willing and able to attend an in-person interview and training at our Dayton, Ohio, location
Priority Candidates
Priority consideration will be given to:
- Current or former law-enforcement professionals
- Current or former public-school teachers
- Current or former school bus drivers
- Applicants who already hold an active Ohio Class D Driving Instructor License
- Bilingual or multilingual applicants, especially Spanish speakers
- Candidates with previous driver-training or instructional experience
Candidates who are not currently licensed may still apply. We will assist qualified individuals with the process of obtaining an Ohio Class D Driving Instructor License.
Mandatory In-Person Interview and Training
Please read carefully before applying:
- All interviews are conducted in person at our Dayton, Ohio, location
- We do not offer telephone, virtual, or online interviews
- Interviews are scheduled on Fridays only
- The interview process requires one day
- Selected candidates must complete up to five days of training at our Dayton location
- Applicants are responsible for all expenses associated with travelling to Dayton, including transportation, lodging, and meals
- After successfully completing the interview and training process, employees will report to and work from the original location for which they were hired
