In this role, you'll be responsible for installing, repairing, and restoring a variety of flooring materials across residential and commercial projects. Duties
- Measure and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to determine flooring installation requirements.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary primers or adhesives to ensure optimal flooring adhesion.
- Install various types of flooring including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy coatings, carpets, and laminate with precision and attention to detail.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and secure flooring materials according to specifications.
- Perform floor refinishing tasks such as buffing, sanding, sealing, and water damage restoration to restore floors to their best condition.
- Follow building material installation safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Assist with other related tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and remodeling projects as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in flooring installation across multiple materials including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy floors, and carpets.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or schematics.
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., saws, chisels), power tools (e.g., drills, sanders), and construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy materials and working on elevated surfaces while maintaining safety standards.
- Familiarity with building installation safety compliance regulations and best practices in construction site environments.
- Experience with blueprint reading and understanding construction plans for accurate project execution.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, refinishing, water damage restoration, and general maintenance.
- Additional skills in caulking, cabinet installation, handyman tasks, construction painting, concrete finishing, remodeling work, and restoration industry experience are highly valued.
