Duties
- Provide engaging tutoring sessions in subjects such as mathematics, science, English language arts, and test preparation (including SAT)
- Develop customized lesson plans and curriculum materials that align with students’ goals and learning styles
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance online instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences
- Assess students’ progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to maximize understanding and retention
- Support students with special education needs by implementing appropriate instructional adaptations and classroom management techniques
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation, motivation, and confidence
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student
Skills
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design principles
- Proficiency in learning technology platforms and online instruction tools
- Experience tutoring in core academic subjects such as math, science, English language arts, and test prep (including SAT)
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and student engagement
- Classroom management skills with experience working with children or adult learners in various settings
- Demonstrated flexibility in instructional approaches to meet individual student needs, including special education considerations
- Strong writing skills for lesson planning, feedback, and documentation of student progress
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds to promote inclusive learning environments
