Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation by following recipes and adhering to portion guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools.
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, chopping, and other food handling techniques using proper knife skills and slicing methods.
- Maintain cleanliness standards by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly to meet food safety regulations.
- Support menu planning efforts by understanding dietary requirements and assisting in the development of meal options.
- Follow food safety management procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health standards.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, manage timing, and deliver excellent food service experiences.
- Deliver meals in a childcare setting.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, including cooking, slicing, and recipe adherence.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Understanding of food safety standards in production environments and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with menu planning or catering is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and kitchen staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
