The Services Technology Acceleration Center (STAC) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welding Technician to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess experience with welding systems with a background in aerospace welding standards. The technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining welding equipment to repair aerospace components, including both traditional and laser welding technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate traditional welding equipment, and use fixtures, tools and gauges to produce aerospace parts meeting engine manual tolerances.

Follow detailed work instructions and practice weld procedures per GE and Nadcap/AWS specifications.

Operate laser systems to perform welding tasks on aerospace components. Set up laser machines according to engineering specifications and production schedules. Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure compliance with technical requirements.

Equipment and Inventory Management: Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance. Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning agents, solvents, consumables, and spare parts. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and supplies.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all operation, maintenance and repair activities. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards and risks in the MRO shop.

Follow technical plans, work from complex product drawings, manuals, specifications, and other company/customer specifications to meet desired manufacturing objectives

Oversee and coordinate equipment calibrations.

Evaluate equipment calibrations for compliance to standards and specifications.

Ability and willingness to lift 50 lbs.

Ability and willingness to follow all STAC safety regulations.

Ability and willingness to follow all health, waste, and chemical regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution in a technical field or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program preferred.
- Certified Welder (CW) and/or Certified Laser Welding Technician (CLWT) or equivalent

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating Laserdyne or similar laser systems in a manufacturing setting.

Previous experience in the aerospace industry is desirable.

Fluent in basic English knowledge

Strong documentation and reporting skills.
