Shine Transportation is a Mid-Atlantic fuel hauler located in Winchester, VA, looking for experienced, dedicated, and safety minded Fuel Transport drivers to join our team and grow with us! Must have current/prior bulk fuel transport experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs daily truck equipment inspections and all required safety equipment including, but not limited to; tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water, etc. before each shift to assure equipment is safe for usage
- Submits requests for maintenance for any repair items
- Utilizes on board technology for load information and dispatch communication
- Maintains truck logs or time recordings as required by state, federal, and Company policies and regulations
- Understands terminology and procedures at different loading terminals
- Plans routes and meets delivery schedules
- Follows procedures for safely loading and unloading
- Operates truck safely to and from customer locations and prepares and acquires customer signature receipts for load delivered
- Maintains telephone contact with dispatch center for instructions
- Performs minor roadside repairs
- Connects/disconnects various trailers when necessary
- Performs post trip vehicle inspections of vehicles driven, equipment moved, and trailers towed, noting any defects or deficiencies
- Performs all safety procedures required by governmental agencies and those established by Shine Transportation, Inc.
- Attends driver and employee meetings as requested for job and safety information
- Assists in training new employees when requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have current Class A CDL, Hazmat and Tank endorsements, and Medical Certificate and TWIC card.
- Excellent driving record, no DUIs or Reckless driving
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules
- Ability to lift 75lbs
- Work either a Saturday or Sunday and up to 70 hours/week
- Pass background check to access Government and Military facilities
