Purpose Statement: The Kindergarten Paraprofessional is an integral member of the early childhood instructional team, collaboratively providing support and guidance to help all kindergarten students access learning and experience success in and out of the classroom. Under the direction and supervision of the Kindergarten teaching team, the Paraprofessional supports young learners in developing foundational academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and independent self-care skills within an inclusive, nurturing educational environment.Essential Functions: Provide direct support to kindergarten students in whole-class, small-group, and individual settings as directed by the teaching team to reinforce foundational literacy, math, and motor skills.Assist students in engaging with the kindergarten curriculum through prompting, encouragement, and the use of age-appropriate learning aids and hands-on materials.Facilitate the development of young students' social-emotional skills, helping them learn to share, cooperate, self-regulate, and problem-solve with peers.Support student independence by encouraging self-advocacy, problem-solving, and the development of daily routines and independent self-care skills (e.g., managing outerwear, packing backpacks, bathroom routines).Assist with the implementation of classroom routines, positive behavior expectations, and school-wide behavior systems while maintaining student dignity and respect.Ensure student safety and support positive peer interactions during critical transition times, recess, lunch, field trips, and other school activities as assigned.Observe, track, and share feedback regarding student engagement and progress with the kindergarten teachers to help inform instructional planning.Collaborate effectively and maintain open, professional communication with the kindergarten teaching team, specialists, and school administration to support student success.Assist in preparing instructional materials (e.g., cutting, organizing crafts, setting up centers), maintaining a clean and organized learning environment, and managing classroom resources.Maintain strict confidentiality of student records, behavior, and progress in accordance with FERPA and school policies.Participate in grade-level team meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities relevant to early childhood education as required.Model positive behavior, kindness, professionalism, and strong character for young students at all times.Perform other duties as assigned by the kindergarten teaching team or administration.Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.Ability to meet Idaho paraprofessional requirements or willingness to obtain required qualifications.Experience working with children preferred.Knowledge of child development, behavior support strategies, and inclusive practices preferred.Ability to follow instructional plans and directions from certified staff.Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.Anser Charter School may be a good fit for you if you: Flourish in a collaborative environment that values teamwork, consistency, and student-centered practices.Believe all students can learn and deserve access to meaningful educational opportunities.Enjoy supporting students with diverse learning needs in inclusive settings.Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with students and staff.Value relationship-building and creating a safe, supportive environment for children.Are committed to continuous growth and reflection.Are passionate about Anser's mission, values, and commitment to students and families.About Our School: Anser Charter School, a public school chartered by the Idaho Charter School Commission demonstrates 27 years of successful operation.
