About the Role
We’re seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Senior Hardware Technician to join our growing Hardware Operations team. In this role, you’ll diagnose, repair, test, and validate embedded computer systems while also supporting day-to-day operations and mentoring other technicians. What You’ll Do:
1. Testing, Diagnostics & Repair
- Diagnose, test, repair, and validate embedded computer systems.
- Repair non-functional PCBs by diagnosing issues and replacing faulty components, while identifying and correcting solder defects such as shorts, opens, and placement issues.
- Be proficient with soldering equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
- Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and rework instructions.
2. Operations & Leadership
- Support production, RMA, and system integration activities to ensure efficient hardware operations.
- Lead by example and help train, guide, and mentor other technicians.
- Ensure products meet quality, reliability, and performance standards before release or return to service.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing, repair, and manufacturing processes, and help implement those improvements.
3. Documentation & Quality
- Document repairs, test results, and root-cause findings accurately and clearly.
- Communicate technical findings, recurring issues, and repair trends to engineering and cross-functional teams as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company quality and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in computer system testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong hands-on experience in soldering, desoldering, and reworking SMT and through-hole PCBs.
- General low-voltage electrical knowledge (0–24V systems).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, safety, and workmanship.
- Demonstrated leadership capability or a strong desire to grow into a team lead role.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or similar harness manufacturing certification.
- IPC soldering certification or equivalent hands-on soldering certification.
- Experience supporting RMA, manufacturing, or hardware operations in a production environment.
