We are seeking an energetic, polished and highly organized E-Bike Sales & Marketing Representative who can create an exceptional in-store experience while also helping us expand our visibility throughout Loudoun County, Fairfax County and the greater Washington, D.C. region.
This position combines retail sales, customer relationship management, community outreach, marketing, public relations and event planning. The right candidate will be equally comfortable assisting a customer in the showroom, following up with sales prospects, contacting a local media outlet and organizing community e-bike event and outreach.
Primary ResponsibilitiesRetail Sales and Customer Experience
- Professionally greet and engage every customer who visits an EBike Connections location.
- Maintain a polished, enthusiastic and approachable presence in a retail environment.
- Ask thoughtful questions to understand each customer’s transportation, recreation, fitness and lifestyle needs.
- Educate customers about e-bike models, features, classifications, safety, local riding opportunities and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate product demonstrations, test rides and rental experiences.
- Clearly explain financing, warranty, service and promotional programs.
- Guide customers through the complete sales process without creating a high-pressure environment.
- Maintain clean, organized and professionally presented showroom displays.
- Ensure bicycles are charged, properly displayed, accurately labeled and ready for customer demonstrations.
- Represent EBike Connections in a way that builds customer confidence and distinguishes us from online-only sellers and traditional bicycle retailers.
Customer Follow-Up and CRM Management
- Enter customer information, interests, test rides, product preferences and next steps into the company’s customer relationship management system.
- Conduct timely and thorough follow-up with every qualified sales prospect.
- Follow up by telephone, email and text according to company procedures and customer preferences.
- Create specific follow-up plans rather than relying on generic sales messages.
- Maintain accurate notes so any team member can understand the customer’s needs and previous conversations.
- Reengage past customers regarding accessories, service, upgrades, referrals and new product opportunities.
- Track leads from website inquiries, rentals, events, social media, telephone calls and showroom visits.
- Help develop CRM campaigns for customers who have not yet purchased.
- Monitor sales opportunities through completion and provide management with accurate pipeline reporting.
- Treat follow-up as an essential part of customer service rather than an optional sales activity.
Local Marketing and Community Outreach
- Develop a working knowledge of local marketing opportunities throughout Loudoun County, Fairfax County and Northern Virginia.
- Identify appropriate local newspapers, magazines, television stations, radio stations, community websites, newsletters, social media groups and business publications.
- Build relationships with local chambers of commerce, tourism organizations, homeowners’ associations, active-adult communities, employers, schools, recreation groups and nonprofit organizations.
- Research new sources for reaching commuters, families, outdoor enthusiasts, older adults and customers seeking alternative transportation.
- Coordinate promotions with nearby businesses, restaurants, breweries, resorts, hotels, apartment communities and corporate employers.
- Identify sponsorship, advertising and partnership opportunities that provide measurable value.
- Assist with local search marketing, social media content, email campaigns and customer review generation.
- Help ensure that marketing messages remain accurate, professional and consistent across all channels.
Public Relations and Media Relations
- Help develop newsworthy stories about electric transportation, local business growth, customer experiences, community partnerships and e-bike education.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, media announcements and community calendar submissions.
- Develop and maintain a list of relevant local reporters, editors, bloggers, community leaders and media contacts.
- Pitch appropriate stories to local media outlets and follow up professionally.
- Coordinate interviews, store visits, product demonstrations and media events.
- Monitor local news and community conversations for opportunities to position EBike Connections as a knowledgeable e-bike resource.
- Represent the company professionally when communicating with journalists, elected officials, community organizations and business partners.
- Help prepare company representatives for interviews and public appearances.
Event Planning and Execution
- Plan and coordinate in-store and community events that introduce more people to electric bikes.
- Develop events such as test-ride days, safety clinics, commuter demonstrations, customer appreciation events, corporate wellness programs and community partnership events.
- Identify suitable venues, partners, permits, staffing needs, equipment requirements and promotional opportunities.
- Create detailed event plans, timelines, budgets and follow-up procedures.
- Promote events through email, social media, local calendars, community organizations and media outreach.
- Capture attendee information and ensure that every qualified event lead receives timely CRM follow-up.
- Measure attendance, leads, appointments, test rides, sales and overall event performance.
- Attend and represent EBike Connections at festivals, trade shows, community gatherings and local business events.
- Help make every event organized, welcoming, educational and productive.

Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, business development, hospitality, marketing, public relations, event planning or customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Excellent telephone, email and written communication abilities.
- Experience using a CRM, point-of-sale system, email marketing platform or other customer management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to follow up consistently and manage multiple opportunities.
- Knowledge of Northern Virginia communities, media outlets and local marketing resources.
- Experience coordinating events, promotions or community partnerships.
- Comfort speaking with customers, business owners, community leaders and members of the media.
- Ability to learn technical product information and explain it in understandable language.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Proficiency with social media and common business software.
- Interest in electric bikes, outdoor recreation, sustainability, fitness or alternative transportation is strongly preferred.
Previous bicycle or e-bike industry experience is helpful but not required. We are more interested in finding someone who is professional, curious, dependable, comfortable with technology and excited to learn.
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
- Ability to stand and interact with customers for extended periods.
- Ability to assist with moving, displaying and demonstrating electric bicycles.
- Ability to work at community and outdoor events when required.
- Reliable transportation between company locations and local events.
- Availability to work weekends and during key retail periods.
- Flexibility to support occasional evening events or community programs.
