Overnight Dog Camp Counselor (Part-Time) – Ranch Setting
Location: Escondido Area – North County San Diego, CA
Do you love dogs and enjoy peaceful evenings in a beautiful ranch setting? We are looking for a dependable, caring Overnight Dog Camp Counselor to help care for our pack while they enjoy their overnight stay.
This is the perfect position for someone who genuinely enjoys being around dogs and is comfortable spending the night at our ranch while ensuring our guests are safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
Our dogs enjoy a boutique boarding experience at our ranch house with 3 acres with supervised off-leash play, plenty of room to explore, and lots of love and attention. We are looking for someone who is confident managing multiple friendly dogs in a safe, positive, and relaxed environment.
Schedule
- Part-Time: 2 overnight shifts per week
- Hours: 5:00 PM – 12:00 PM (Noon) the following day
- Pay: $150–$200 per overnight shift (flat rate), depending on the number of client dogs staying at the ranch that evening.
Please note: This is an overnight position and requires staying overnight at our ranch. It is not suitable for applicants looking for daytime-only work.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and supervise multiple dogs in a calm, caring environment.
- Feed the dogs in the late afternoon.
- Monitor the dogs as they enjoy supervised off-leash play on our beautiful ranch until sunset.
- Bring the dogs inside and settle them into their sleeping areas around 7:00 PM.
- Provide fresh water and monitor each dog's well-being throughout the evening and overnight.
- Perform light cleaning, including picking up after dogs, washing food bowls, and keeping sleeping areas tidy.
- Ensure gates, doors, and the property remain secure throughout the night.
- Report any health concerns or emergencies to the owner.
- Help create a fun, safe, and loving environment where every dog feels at home.
Qualifications
- Genuine love for dogs is a must.
- Experience caring for multiple dogs is preferred but not required—we're happy to train the right person.
- Calm, patient, and confident handling dogs of all sizes and personalities.
- Comfortable supervising off-leash group play and recognizing appropriate dog behavior.
- Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.
- Comfortable staying overnight at our ranch.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must live within 30 miles of our ranch location.
- Weekend and holiday availability is a plus.
