We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician / Hearing Aid Dispenser Trainee to join our healthcare team in Redding, California. This entry-level position provides hands-on training and mentorship while supporting laboratory, clinical, and patient service operations.
The successful candidate will work toward California Hearing Aid Dispenser licensure while gaining valuable healthcare experience in a supportive, professional environment.
No hearing healthcare experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates excellent customer service, strong attention to detail, and a desire to build a long-term career in healthcare.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $22.00-$26.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience, training progress, and business needs.

Career Advancement Opportunities
Employees who achieve licensing milestones will become eligible for increased earnings opportunities, including wage increases and participation in the Company's commission program, subject to applicable compensation plans and Company policies.
Licensing Achievement Bonuses
· $1,500 Bonus for successfully passing the California Hearing Aid Dispenser Written Examination within seven (6) months of hire.
· Additional $1,500 Bonus for successfully passing the California Hearing Aid Dispenser Practical Examination within twelve (12) months of hire.
Bonus payments are subject to applicable payroll withholdings and Company policy.
What You'll Do
Laboratory & Technical Support
· Clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on hearing aids
· Replace tubing, wax guards, filters, and other hearing aid components
· Prepare hearing devices for patient fittings and follow-up appointments
· Assist with hearing aid programming and adjustments under supervision
· Maintain hearing aid inventory, equipment, and supplies
· Order and stock hearing aid parts and clinic supplies
Hearing Aid Dispenser Trainee Responsibilities
· Shadow and assist licensed Hearing Aid Dispensers and Audiologists
· Participate in hearing screenings, consultations, fittings, and follow-up care as permitted by law
· Learn hearing aid programming, troubleshooting, and patient counseling techniques
· Assist with ear impressions and related procedures under required supervision
· Educate patients on hearing aid use, care, and maintenance
· Complete training activities necessary to progress toward California licensure
Patient Care & Administrative Support
· Greet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner
· Support appointment scheduling and front-office operations
· Conduct patient follow-up and recall outreach
· Maintain accurate electronic patient records
· Assist with insurance and administrative documentation
· Deliver an exceptional patient experience
Qualifications Required
· High School Diploma or GED
· Strong attention to detail
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· Ability to learn technical equipment and software
· Strong organizational and time-management skills
· Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality
· Willingness to pursue California Hearing Aid Dispenser licensure
Preferred
· Associate or bachelor's Degree
· Experience in healthcare, medical, dental, optical, or hearing healthcare settings
· Retail, sales, or customer service experience
· Experience with electronic health records or practice management software
