Nested Baby is an award-winning parent education company serving families throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with classes held in Washington DC and Fairfax.
We partner with one of the largest OB/GYN groups in the region to provide evidence-based education that empowers parents, caregivers, and families with life-saving skills.
We're currently seeking an experienced Pediatric CPR, Choking & AED Instructor to teach our hybrid American Red Cross certification classes.
Position Overview
Teach 1 class per month, primarily on Sunday afternoons.
Our hybrid learning model allows participants to complete the educational content online before class. During the in-person session, instructors focus on reviewing key concepts, answering questions, demonstrating life-saving skills, and leading extensive hands-on practice.
Schedule
- Sunday afternoons
- Arrive 20-30 mins prior to class for setup
- Remain approximately 15 minutes after class for cleanup
Responsibilities
- Teach Pediatric CPR, choking response, AED use, and first aid following American Red Cross guidelines
- Lead hands-on skills practice using infant and child CPR manikins
- Facilitate an engaging, interactive learning environment
- Answer participant questions using current evidence-based guidelines
- Maintain American Red Cross instructional standards
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and Nested staff
Qualifications
Candidates must:
- Hold a current American Red Cross CPR Instructor Certification (or equivalent pediatric CPR instructor certification)
- Have experience teaching CPR, choking response, AED, and first aid
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills
- Enjoy teaching in an interactive, hands-on environment
- Be comfortable using presentation software, internet browsers, and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, etc.)
- Be reliable, professional, and a collaborative team player
- Be willing to travel throughout the Washington, DC metro area
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching parents, caregivers, childcare providers, or community groups
- Experience with pediatric emergency care
