Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides (HHAs) to provide quality in-home care to clients across various settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication administration, and managing complex health needs. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patients’ health status, including vital signs and overall condition
- Administer medications as prescribed and document medication administration accurately
- Support patients with medical procedures such as catheter care, Hoyer lift transfers, and hospice care needs
- Maintain detailed medical records using EMR/EHR systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping tasks including laundry and cleaning to ensure a safe environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals and communicate any changes or concerns promptly
- Work effectively with other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
- Ensure safety protocols are adhered to at all times during caregiving activities
Requirements
- Valid Home Health Aide (HHA) certification or equivalent required; CPR certification preferred
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, dementia/dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory care techniques
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is a plus
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation standards
- Ability to perform patient observation accurately and recognize potential health issues early
- Strong communication skills and compassionate demeanor essential for providing quality patient care
- Ability to work independently in a home setting while following established care plans
- Physical ability to assist with transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds if necessary
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts including live-in employment options preferred
