Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Worker to join our team and ensure the optimal upkeep of outdoor grounds and facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining landscape aesthetics, operating grounds maintenance equipment, and performing general repairs to keep our environment safe, functional, and visually appealing. Your expertise in landscaping, equipment operation, and safety protocols will contribute significantly to the overall quality of our outdoor spaces. Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, and pruning to maintain attractive outdoor spaces.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently.
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and identifying health concerns or hazards.
- Apply horticultural knowledge for plant identification, pest management, and soil care to promote healthy growth.
- Execute snow plowing and outdoor winter maintenance to keep pathways clear during inclement weather.
- Assist with construction projects or hardscape installations such as pathways or retaining walls when required.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with all safety regulations during outdoor work activities.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating various landscaping and grounds maintenance tools.
- Proficiency in landscape maintenance techniques including mowing, landscaping, gardening, and hardscape installation.
- Knowledge of plant identification, pesticide management, irrigation systems, and horticulture principles.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators for construction or grounds improvement projects.
- Experience with tree care practices including trimming and tree health assessment.
- Ability to perform outdoor work in different weather conditions while adhering to safety standards.
- Familiarity with snow plowing equipment and winter outdoor maintenance procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
