Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure health stability
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Support residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care, and behavioral management strategies to promote safety and comfort
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and prevent injury
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards
- Document care activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems accurately and promptly
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring safe transportation practices
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care plans
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or Hoyer lift training are a plus
- Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring and basic nursing skills within long-term or senior care environments
- Ability to perform personal care tasks with compassion and professionalism while respecting residents’ dignity
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties; clean driving record preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively support residents’ needs and collaborate with team members
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift
