Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist
Mazda of Port Charlotte is looking for a motivated and results-driven Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for helping source, evaluate, and acquire quality used vehicles for our dealership. The goal is to build a steady pipeline of desirable pre-owned inventory through private sellers, service customers, lease returns, trade opportunities, online marketplaces, and customer follow-up.
This is an important role in our dealership. The right person will be proactive, confident on the phone, comfortable negotiating, detail-oriented, and able to work closely with sales management to understand which vehicles we need and what the market is demanding.

Responsibilities
Identify and source used vehicles through auctions, dealer networks, private sellers, service customers, lease returns, online marketplaces, wholesalers, and customer databases.
Contact customers and prospects to create trade-in and direct-purchase opportunities.
Work closely with sales management to understand current inventory needs, pricing strategy, and market demand.
Review vehicle condition, mileage, history, photos, ownership details, and market value.
Assist with vehicle appraisals and purchase recommendations.
Negotiate purchase prices and terms in a professional and respectful manner.
Build and maintain relationships with sellers, vendors, wholesalers, auction contacts, and other sourcing partners.
Track leads, appointments, offers, follow-up activity, and acquisition results.
Coordinate with sales, service, accounting, and logistics teams to ensure smooth vehicle purchases and deliveries.
Monitor market trends, pricing changes, inventory age, and sourcing opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of all purchase activity, seller communications, and transaction details.
Help the dealership acquire the right vehicles at the right price to support sales volume, gross profit, and inventory turn.
Requirements
Excellent phone, email, text, and follow-up skills.
Ability to work independently while staying aligned with dealership goals.
Positive attitude, high energy, and a results-driven mindset.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow a process.
Valid driver’s license required.
Compensation
$50,000 - $85,000+ per year based on performance.
Compensation may include a base salary plus performance-based bonuses tied to vehicles acquired and purchase results. Strong performers will have the opportunity to earn more as the department grows.
