Lakewood Church is seeking an organized, dependable, and ministry-minded Administrative Assistant II to provide administrative, operational, and ministry support across Marriage Ministry and Pastoral Ministries.
This position is primarily dedicated to supporting Marriage Ministry, where you’ll help coordinate classes, events, volunteer leaders, ministry communication, records, and day-to-day operations. You’ll also provide administrative and project support to Pastoral Ministries, helping ministry leaders stay organized, connected, and focused on serving the Lakewood Church family.
Approximately 80% of this role supports Marriage Ministry, with the remaining 20% supporting Pastoral Ministries.
This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys managing details, supporting people, coordinating multiple priorities, and using administrative strengths to help ministry initiatives move forward with excellence.
Work Schedule
- Sunday 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Optional work-from-home on Monday and Wednesday
What You’ll Do
You’ll provide administrative, operational, and ministry support while helping maintain clear communication, organized systems, and effective follow-through across Marriage Ministry and Pastoral Ministries.
Marriage Ministry Support | Approximately 80%
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Director of Marriage Ministry and the Marriage Ministry team
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, appointments, classes, events, and ministry activities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Marriage Ministry inquiries, including phone calls, emails, correspondence, and information requests
- Coordinate with Lakewood departments to support the planning and execution of Marriage Ministry classes, events, and special initiatives
- Manage Marriage Ministry events, classes, and related information within Lakewood CMS and other ministry systems
- Maintain accurate ministry records, databases, attendance information, and event documentation
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, communication, scheduling, and development of Marriage Ministry volunteers and leaders
- Maintain regular communication with volunteer leaders regarding schedules, events, ministry needs, and upcoming opportunities
- Assist with meeting preparation, event logistics, materials, correspondence, and follow-up
- Participate in regular meetings with Marriage Ministry staff and volunteer leadership to support ministry priorities and execution
- Provide administrative support for special projects, ministry initiatives, and other Marriage Ministry needs as assigned
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy
Pastoral Ministries Support | Approximately 20%
- Provide administrative and ministry support to the Sr. Director of Pastoral Ministries across assigned ministry areas and initiatives
- Assist with coordinating meetings, calendars, ministry projects, events, and departmental priorities
- Support communication and follow-up with ministry directors, staff, volunteer leaders, and other Lakewood departments
- Assist with tracking projects, action items, deadlines, and ministry initiatives to help ensure timely execution and follow-through
- Provide support for special events, weekend ministry activities, leadership meetings, and other Pastoral Ministries initiatives as needed
- Assist with special projects, research, reports, presentations, correspondence, and other assignments from the Sr. Director of Pastoral Ministries
- Help facilitate communication and coordination across Pastoral Ministries to promote alignment, collaboration, and operational effectiveness
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the overall mission and objectives of Pastoral Ministries and Lakewood Church
Qualifications
Successful candidates will demonstrate:

- The ability to manage multiple projects, identify priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with a diverse population
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proper English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and business formatting
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle conflict and assist with resolving problems
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills
- The ability to work independently on projects and collaboratively with department team members
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Professional appearance and conduct
Education & Experience:
- Minimum two to five years of experience in an administrative field
- Some college (preferred)
