Sales Associate / Optical Consultant (Will Train!)
About Us
At our practice, we provide a welcoming, hometown atmosphere where patients are treated like family. We believe that finding the perfect pair of glasses is where healthcare meets personal style. That’s why we are looking for a dynamic, people-oriented Sales Associate to join our team.
No prior optical or medical experience? No problem. If you have a proven track record in retail sales, customer service, or hospitality, a great work ethic, and a passion for helping people, we will fully train you to become a skilled Optician and Clinical Technician.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Warm Leads Only: You never have to cold call or hunt for clients. Every customer walking into your boutique is a patient who already needs your help and expertise.
- The Best of Both Worlds: This is a diverse, fast-paced hybrid role. Part of your day will be spent running the retail floor (styling patients, customizing high-tech lenses), and on other occasions it will be spent in the clinical area working alongside our doctors.
- Paid Professional Development: Learn a specialized medical trade on our dime, expanding your resume and your earning potential.
Key Responsibilities
Optical Styling & Sales
- Consultative Selling: Guide patients through our frame gallery to find eyewear that matches their personal style, facial structure, and lifestyle needs.
- Product Education: Educate patients on premium lens technologies, customized coatings, and contact lens upgrades (we’ll teach you all the product knowledge!).
- Precision & Fit: Take accurate measurements for custom lenses, place optical orders, and perform custom frame adjustments and repairs.
- Merchandising: Keep our optical boutique looking sharp, organized, and visually appealing.
Clinical Prep & Support
- Patient Workups: Welcome patients, gather basic medical histories, and run state-of-the-art diagnostic pre-testing equipment before they see the doctor.
- Flow Management: Partner with our doctors to keep the daily schedule moving smoothly and document patient information accurately in our electronic systems.
Qualifications
- Sales or Hospitality Experience: Proven success in a retail sales, customer service, or client-facing environment. You know how to build rapport quickly and confidently ask for the sale.
- An Eye for Detail: High accuracy when handling orders, taking measurements, or inputting data.
- Multitasking All-Star: Ability to thrive and keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Coachability: A strong desire to learn a new industry and absorb hands-on training.
