Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. Maintain all general ledger account records including monthly journal entries and accruals, perform all account analysis and prepare all related account reconciliations, prepare monthly and quarterly reports to management, prepare schedules for auditors and other agencies.
Duties
- Preparation and posting of all general ledger journal entries for monthly closings
- Preparation and Reconciliation of all bank accounts
- Recording entries for all payroll expense including reconciliation of payroll system to general ledger
- Review all fixed asset additions, retirements, and perform monthly fixed asset depreciation
- Review and record monthly mortgage entries and track loan balances
- Prepare various reconciliation schedules for balance sheet accounts
- Communicate and coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll departments
- Prepare various audit schedules for outside audit firm
- Complete additional duties, analysis and reports assigned by the Controller or agency administration
Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, experience in the accounting field preferred.
- Highly knowledgeable and efficient in related software, including but not limited to competence in MS Word and Outlook, very proficient in MS Excel
- Detail oriented and comfortable with a high volume work environment
- Must understand and apply the principals of accounting, apply generally accepted accounting principles and not for profit accounting
- Experience working with General ledger software and understands concepts of the General Ledger
- Works well under time constraints
- Fast learner and adapts easily to new situations
- Works well independently with minimal supervision
- Must demonstrate the highest of ethical standards related to money, checks and other funds and the management of funds under their control
- Good verbal and written communication skills
