About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) to join our team at a 24-hour care facility supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals you serve, providing hands-on care, support, and companionship in a residential state-operated facility setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
- Support individuals in developing and maintaining skills for independent living, community integration, and personal growth
- Monitor and document individual health, behavior, and progress in accordance with facility policies and care plans
- Administer medications as trained and authorized (where applicable)
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment as needed
- Accompany individuals to medical appointments, community outings, and recreational activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive living environment
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and behavioral situations using approved intervention techniques
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and family members regarding individual care needs
- Complete required documentation and reporting accurately and timely
- Attend and complete all mandatory trainings and certifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in direct care, healthcare, or human services preferred
- Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed in a 24-hour care environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, transferring, and assisting individuals with mobility needs
- Must pass required background checks and clearances (Act 33/34, FBI, etc. as applicable)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transportation

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
