We are seeking a Field Service / Start-Up Engineer II to join our growing semiconductor equipment support team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced semiconductor processing equipment at customer sites. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while providing exceptional technical support in cleanroom manufacturing environments.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with semiconductor capital equipment, strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and start up semiconductor processing equipment at customer facilities.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and system-level issues to minimize downtime.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency service calls.
- Complete equipment upgrades, modifications, and retrofit projects.
- Order, replace, and install equipment components as needed.
- Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, and documentation.
- Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and management to resolve technical issues.
- Train customer technicians and operators on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
- Follow all safety, quality, and cleanroom protocols.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and other assigned assets responsibly.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge through training and product updates.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, or maintaining semiconductor capital equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Military technical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment in a fab environment.
- Knowledge of vacuum systems, robotics, automation, and process equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and elevated work areas.
- Ability to walk 10,000+ steps and climb multiple flights of stairs during a 12-hour shift.
- Ability to wear required PPE and cleanroom garments for extended periods.
Work Environment
This role is performed primarily in semiconductor manufacturing facilities and cleanroom environments. Employees may be exposed to:
- High-voltage electrical systems
- Moving mechanical equipment
- Hazardous chemicals
- Radiation sources
- Vacuum and pressurized systems
Required PPE includes safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and cleanroom attire.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional domestic travel to customer locations, factories, and training centers.
- Flexibility to support off-shift and emergency service requirements as needed.
