We are looking for a skilled and hard working AM prep cook at Oasis Diner.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Morning Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and supporting the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient food service. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipe specifications
- Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks such as portioning, prepping, and organizing ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality throughout the preparation process
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels
- Support catering events or special meal preparations as needed to ensure timely service delivery
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service restaurant role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings demonstrates strong foundational skills
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential
- Familiarity with recipe following, meal preparation, and kitchen operations enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Hands-on experience with knife skills, food industry standards, or culinary tasks will be advantageous
- Prior work in catering or food service environments helps develop the ability to work efficiently under pressure
