JOB The Adjunct Welding Technology Instructor is responsible for providing quality and industry standard instruction in welding topics through the use of seated, online, and lab courses. The Instructor is responsible for providing innovative and engaging instruction and ensuring that course topics and examples evolve with advancements in the field. The Adjunct Instructor reports to the Program Chair and to the Dean of Business and Industry. The Instructor will assist in maintaining the program equipment, ensure lab orderliness and safety, and stay abreast of industry-standard practices.
This position will remain open until filled. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Associate degree in welding from an institutionally accredited college or university and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline is required

Must have at least three years’ experience working as a professional welder

Must be experienced in SMAW (stick), GMAW (mig), and GTAW (tig) welding processes

Knowledge of oxy-fuel and plasma arc cutting processes preferred

Must also have knowledge of basic welding symbols used in the welding industry

AWS certifications or knowledge of AWS competencies is preferred

Previous teaching experience at a community college or university, experience using instructional technologies, and teaching online courses are preferred skills

Licensure and/or certification requirements specific to the teaching discipline and external governing agencies shall be on file with Human Resources
