Position Overview

This role will support orthopedic services, working with a total joint surgeon.

Our practice consists of orthopedic subspecialty surgeons, APP’s, and Primary Care Sports Medicine physicians
-
You will have the opportunity to see patients independently in clinic, assist in the OR, and participate in orthopedic call.

Scope of Practice/What You’ll Do:
- Responsibilities include- seeing patients in the clinical setting, first assisting in surgery, and assisting with orthopedic call.

This role serves a diverse patient population.

Surgical first assist-primary total joint procedures
-
Independent practitioner in the clinical setting.
Team & Support Structure

The team consists of fie orthopedic surgeons, one primary care sports medicine physician, and five APP’s.

Collaboration model

Robust onboarding to include opportunities to shadow in the OR and clinics as needed.

Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred

Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA
-
Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start.
-
Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing is required to start.
-
Two years of orthopedic, urgent care or emergency medicine experience is preferred.
