Wholey's Market, 1711 Penn Avenue, in Pittsburgh's historic Strip District is celebrating 112 years in business and is seeking a candidate for an immediate opening for a Seafood role.
Starting wage for those working 5 days per week is $13.75 and rises to $17.40 over the next 24 months.
Hours are 6:00am-2:00pm 5 days per week with open availability for any day of the week.
This position entails setting up the Seafood counter for the day, shoveling 4 hopers of ice to be distributed on the Seafood counter. This is a physically demanding position. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Reponsibilites:
Lift up to 40 lbs. This is a physical labor job requiring significant strength filling and depositing 4-5 hoppers of ice in the morning.
Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers in the department and ensuring they can locate the items that they are looking for.
Need to learn and have sufficient basic knowledge of seafood quality, type, origins, and how to prepare, to answer questions, and make suggestions to our customers.
Properly handle product and equipment in accordance with food safety guidelines to ensure your personal safety and the safety of your co-workers as well as customer safety.
Replenish product in the refrigerated cases, rotating product and ensuring code dating procedures are followed and only the freshest product is available for sale including maintaining proper ice levels on all display cases.
Maintain cleanliness of department work area.
Assist in maintaining the cooler and freezer efficiency by unloading deliveries using proper rotation practices.
Assist in other areas as required which could include other departments.
Maintain proper hygiene and be in a clean, presentable uniform.
