MiTAC is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and general facility support across multiple Bay Area locations.
The Maintenance Technician will support manufacturing equipment, warehouse systems, material-handling equipment, and building systems. The successful candidate will be safety-conscious, organized, responsive, and capable of diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general facility issues.
Regular travel between MiTAC facilities is required. Occasional overtime, weekend work, or after-hours emergency response may also be necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility and operational equipment.
- Complete assigned work orders safely, accurately, and within established timelines.
- Inspect and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed-air, lighting, and other building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair production machinery, conveyors, loading-dock equipment, dock levelers, roll-up doors, compactors, and related equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance and coordinate outside repairs for forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine whether repairs can be completed internally or require outside service.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, leaks, lighting failures, power issues, temperature concerns, blocked drains, damaged fixtures, and other facility problems.
- Perform basic electrical work, including replacing lights, switches, outlets, sensors, breakers, and related components when qualified and permitted.
- Perform basic plumbing work, including repairing faucets, toilets, drains, valves, pipes, and minor leaks.
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall repair, furniture assembly, hardware replacement, and other general building repairs.
- Assist with installation, relocation, modification, and removal of equipment, shelving, furniture, workstations, and facility fixtures.
- Assist contractors and vendors with site access, equipment shutdowns, testing, and service work.
- Report contractor safety, quality, or completion concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, loading docks, emergency exits, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and other designated areas.
- Maintain accurate work-order records, preventive maintenance logs, repair documentation, inspection forms, and parts usage.
- Maintain tools, replacement parts, maintenance equipment, and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Identify damaged, unsafe, or deteriorating equipment and promptly report hazards.
- Follow lockout/tagout, electrical safety, ladder safety, fall protection, chemical handling, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Follow all MiTAC safety, security, environmental, and facility-access procedures.
- Assist with emergency response, utility shutdowns, spills, alarms, and other facility incidents as directed.
- Support facility improvement, construction, equipment-installation, and relocation projects.
- Maintain clean and orderly maintenance work areas.
- Travel between MiTAC facilities based on assigned maintenance priorities.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or commercial facility.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building-maintenance practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and facility problems using manuals, diagrams, testing equipment, and sound judgment.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, meters, ladders, lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety requirements, including lockout/tagout.
- Ability to complete and document preventive maintenance and repair work accurately.
- Ability to work independently while following instructions, priorities, and safety requirements.
- Strong reliability, attendance, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, managers, vendors, and contractors.
- Valid California driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel regularly between MiTAC facilities throughout the Bay Area.
Preferred
- Trade school, technical school, apprenticeship, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, HVAC, mechanical systems, or a related field.
- Experience supporting electronics manufacturing, server manufacturing, assembly operations, or warehouse and distribution facilities.
- Experience maintaining conveyors, loading-dock equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, compressed-air systems, or production machinery.
- Electrical, HVAC, forklift, OSHA, or other relevant technical certification.
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management or work-order system.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or Mandarin Chinese is helpful but not required.
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
