Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Boom Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating boom trucks and other lifting equipment to handle materials, coordinate loads, and support various construction activities. Duties
- Operate boom trucks, cranes, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy equipment with precision and safety awareness.
- Handle materials safely using rigging techniques, load securing methods, and hydraulics to prevent accidents or damage.
- Coordinate lifting operations on construction sites, ensuring proper load handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Conduct daily inspections of lifting equipment and safety gear to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety regulations.
- Assist with shipping & receiving tasks by loading and unloading materials in warehouse or construction environments.
- Follow construction workplace safety regulations diligently, implementing safety protocols during all operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members to plan lifts, manage site logistics, and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, excavators, backhoes, and other heavy machinery within construction or warehouse settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, load handling equipment operation, and rigging techniques.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial driving and heavy equipment transportation.
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations including OSHA standards and material handling procedures.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on lifting equipment and ensure compliance with safety equipment requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of overhead cranes, hydraulics systems, and load securing rigging methods.
- Prior experience in construction workplace safety practices, including implementation of safety protocols and hazard identification.
