Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chinese-speaking Home Health Aide to provide exceptional in-home care to clients requiring assistance with daily activities and health management. The ideal candidate will possess strong caregiving skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to communicate effectively in Chinese. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor patient condition by observing vital signs, assessing mental status, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed medical instructions while maintaining detailed medical documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory impairments, including memory care strategies and behavioral management.
- Support clients with medical procedures such as catheter care, hospice needs, and assisting with medical records management in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote overall health.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing personal spaces.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive home & community care that respects cultural preferences and individual needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a home health aide or caregiver in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings.
- Fluency in both Chinese and English languages is required for effective communication with clients and family members.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and vital signs monitoring is essential.
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is required; additional certifications such as hospice care or dementia training are a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for accurate documentation.
- Ability to lift patients safely using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts and perform physically demanding tasks when necessary.
