We’re looking for a friendly, reliable barista to join our café team. This role includes making coffee and other drinks, preparing food items like sandwiches and pastries, and providing great customer service.
Our shop can get busy, so we’re looking for someone who can stay organized, multitask, and keep a positive attitude while working. You’ll be taking orders, preparing drinks and food, running the register, and helping keep the café clean and welcoming for guests.
Some shifts may require opening or closing the shop on your own, so being dependable and able to work independently is important.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, teas, and other beverages
- Take customer orders and provide friendly, helpful service
- Prepare food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and other café items
- Multitask between drink preparation, food orders, and customer service during busy periods
- Operate the POS system (Square) and handle cash and card payments
- Keep the café clean and organized, including counters, equipment, and seating areas
- Restock ingredients, cups, and supplies as needed
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Open or close the café when scheduled, completing all opening or closing tasks
Requirements
- Previous barista experience
- Friendly and professional with customers and coworkers
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling cash and basic math for transactions
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to stand for long periods and move around the café throughout a shift
- Able to work independently, including opening or closing the shop alone when needed
Pay
Hourly pay starts at 10/hr or more depending on experience. Card and cash tips are added as well which turn the hourly average into 15-20/hr!
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
