Job Summary
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer / CAD Designer to join our team on-site. You will be responsible for production-level electrical design for a diverse portfolio, focusing primarily on Single-Family Homes, Restaurants, and Commercial properties, with occasional multi-family and apartment projects. The ideal candidate is a proficient AutoCAD user who takes pride in code-compliant, precise engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive electrical construction documents and layouts using AutoCAD.
- Design precise lighting systems and efficient outlet/device placements tailored to architectural plans.
- Generate detailed panel schedules and clear, accurate riser diagrams.
- Perform critical engineering calculations, including AIC (short-circuit) calculations and voltage drop calculations.
- Ensure all designs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Florida building codes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in electrical design is preferred (varying experience levels will be considered; salary is matched to your skill level).
- Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD & Microsoft Excel is required.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of power distribution, lighting layout, and electrical load calculations.
- Licensing: EIT/FE certification or a path toward a PE is a strong plus, but not required.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a desire to be trained by some of the best MEP minds in the state.
- Language: Must be fluent in English (both written and verbal).
