We're hiring one part-time to full-time position immediately. Weekday evenings and Sundays required. Applicant's must be at least 21 years old.
This is a hybrid position as a part-time Firearms Instructor, teaching our curriculum on Sundays and evenings so that we can expand our class schedule. When not actively teaching, your secondary responsibilities will be as a Sales Associate. As our enrollment grows, this position will have the opportunity to teach more, potentially as a full-time firearms instructor.

Hourly Base Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 + supplemental pay
Supplemental Pay: $12,000 - $30,000+ annually
Base pay is supplemented by the number of classes and students taught each week. Full time instructors are capable of making over $60,000 annually.
Your Role as a Firearms Trainer:
As a Firearms Trainer at Midwest Shooting Center, you are central to delivering a safe, professional, and impactful training experience for every client. More than a technical instructor, you are a cultural ambassador and customer advocate. You ensure that all training is conducted with excellence, compliance, and integrity while fostering meaningful relationships and promoting continued client growth.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Lead firearms and tactics courses using MSC's curriculum with an emphasis on safety and skill-building.
- Maintain class sizes in accordance with MSC semi-private training standards (maximum of 4 clients per session).
- Provide coaching to both clients and internal staff to elevate range safety and proficiency.
- Uphold and enforce range, training, OSHA, and EPA guidelines at all times.
- Promote the sale of semi-private packages, client renewals, and advanced training classes.
- Monitor and maintain training equipment and supplies; ensure proper use and accountability.
- Provide outreach to clients in accordance with departmental expectations.
- Report any unsafe, negligent, or inappropriate behavior observed on the range or within the facility.
- Participate in weekly training meetings and audits to support quality improvement.
- Engage in regular personal development and cross-training within the organization.
Expectations:
- Safety & Compliance: Achieve and maintain a 90% training inspection average quarterly. Ensure all policies are upheld without exception.
- Customer Experience: Maintain a minimum 4.5-star average on client reviews each quarter.
- Utilization: Sustain a client load of at least 2.5 per session within 90 days of hire.
- Development: Read and reflect on at least one assigned book per quarter.
- Team Readiness: Be cross trained for an additional position to support business continuity.

Your Role as a Sales Associate:
As a Sales Associate, you are a vital part of the Midwest Shooting Center experience. This is more than a sales job, it’s a customer engagement and leadership opportunity. You'll be responsible for connecting with customers, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions that support our core services: memberships, training programs, and retail products.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers on the retail floor and range with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Perform all sales transactions and firearm-related processes in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct range check-ins/outs and act as a certified Range Safety Officer (RSO).
- Maintain store appearance: cleanliness, organization, and product presentation.
- Engage in regular training and uphold our safety, compliance, and service standards.
- Share knowledge with teammates and contribute to a respectful, high-performance work environment.
- Execute the MIDWEST Way and ensure every customer leaves satisfied.
Expectations:
- Sales Performance: Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals for memberships, training consults, and retail.
- Customer Service: Deliver service excellence and proactively address concerns or escalate as needed.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain ATF, OSHA, and company policy compliance without exception. Always practice and promote firearm safety.
- Culture Stewardship: Demonstrate integrity, initiative, and respect. Be obsessed with maintaining a location that reflects pride and professionalism.
- Development: Participate in ongoing learning (minimum 5 hours per quarter) and read assigned developmental books. Be a self-starter in professional growth.
- Team Contribution: Engage in regular team meetings, training sessions, and forecasting efforts. Provide feedback and participate actively in the evolution of our business.
- Background check required: Federal law requires that our employees must not be prohibited from owning firearms, and must be at least 21 years old to sell handguns.
