Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to join our vibrant team! In this role, you will be the first point of contact for guests, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive. Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional in-person customer service.
- Manage reservation systems such as OpenTable or similar platforms to coordinate seating arrangements efficiently.
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable.
- Answer phone inquiries promptly with excellent phone etiquette, providing accurate information about wait times and reservations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the host stand and waiting area, including tidying up and resetting tables as needed.
- Assist with seating arrangements during busy hours, coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to optimize flow.
- Handle guest concerns or special requests courteously, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Requirements
- Previous host/hostess experience or food service experience preferred; strong customer service skills are essential.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around comfortably for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor; capable of engaging with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlists, and cash handling if needed.
- Knowledge of restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with banquet or catering services is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
