Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical team. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient appointments.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques, and managing infection control protocols.
- Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical documentation in Dentrix.
- Support the team with dental terminology knowledge and assist in procedures involving endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to all safety standards related to infection control and anatomy knowledge.
Skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems) - Dentrix preferred
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient privacy.
- Experience with dental imaging techniques including X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental specialties such as pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with medical coding, documentation of medical records, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
