Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and hospitals. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other conditions. Your expertise in medical documentation and patient interaction will greatly contribute to the well-being of our patients.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs and medical histories.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Assist with tube feeding and catheter care as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner for patient management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for patients.
- Support patients with memory care, hospice care, and senior care needs.
- Engage with patients to promote comfort and enhance their quality of life.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospitals.
- Familiarity with caregiving practices for individuals with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for medical documentation.
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Understanding of vital signs monitoring and basic nursing skills.
