The Johnson County Department of Planning and Zoning is seeking to fill its open Part-time Building Inspector position.
The Building Inspector will perform inspections of residential properties, both under construction, to determine compliance with applicable codes and requirements. Knowledge of building codes and reference materials required, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The Building Inspector will report to the Chief Building Official and will use a County vehicle.
Experience Requirements: Minimum three years of experience in construction trades, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and framing. Experience as a building inspector with ICC certifications preferred.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Work Schedule: The PT Building Inspector typically works one to two full 8-hour day per week, and occasionally an additional days depending on demand
