IndiGO is seeking a qualified mechanic to join our team!
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide quality maintenance on all IndiGO vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations while also providing support to fellow employees.
- Perform Commonwealth of Pennsylvania safety inspections, identifying and reporting hazards.
- Examines vehicle and determines nature and extent of any damages or malfunctions ensuring all fleet vehicles are in safe, working order.
- Plans work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
- Follows manufacturers recommended service procedures.
- Raises vehicle, using hydraulic jack or hoists, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle.
- Removes units, such as engine, transmission, or differentials.
- Disassembles a unit and inspects parts for wear, using the appropriate tools.
- Rewires ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
- Relines and adjusts brakes, aligns wheels, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and repairs system fluid and air leaks.
- Mends damage to body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts.
- Replaces and adjusts headlights.
- Installs and repairs accessories, such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
- Complete reports as needed.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid CDL license required, passenger endorsement must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
- Valid Pennsylvania state inspection license required.
- Ability to use hands and arms when operating hand, power, and air tools as well as handling, installing, and positioning materials.
- Exert or lift in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and excess of 20 pounds regularly.
