Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kitchen Helper and Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves assisting with food preparation, cooking, and food service in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking according to menu specifications and dietary guidelines
- Handle food safely, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and portioning as needed
- Support food presentation and plating for serving
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and notify management of shortages or needs
- Follow food safety protocols at all times, including proper knife skills and handling techniques
- Assist with catering events or special meal services as required
- Ensure the kitchen area is organized, clean, and compliant with health regulations
- Support serving staff during meal times when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience in a dietary department, restaurant, or food service environment is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food industry standards is advantageous
- Familiarity with culinary techniques such as knife skills, food safety practices, and food handling procedures
- Experience in catering or large-scale food service is a plus
- Strong understanding of dietary aide responsibilities and food presentation standards
- Previous work involving cooking, food preparation, or kitchen experience will be highly valued
