The Administrative Specialist, School of Engineering, Mathematics and Sciences is a full-time, 12-month position responsible to the Academic Operations Coordinator, School Engineering, Mathematics and Sciences.
- Performing office duties to include: filing, copying, and ordering supplies for faculty workroom.

Interacting (in person and by telephone) with the College administration, faculty, staff and students as well as the general public.

Supervising student assistants, and scheduling work hours.

Assisting department chairs with day to day operations of their programs.

Receiving visitors, relaying messages, scheduling appointments, and answering questions for staff and students as needed.

Assisting the Academic Operations Coordinator with data entry (Faculty Rosters/Biographical Report/Etc.)

Ability to manage variety of projects assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Individual Contributor
Work Environment: Indoor office setting. Work rarely required outside of normal business hours.
Physical Demands: Sitting, walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and repetitive typing.
Travel Required: Yes-5% (running errands for college).
If travel is required, the candidate must have and maintain a current, valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Required Education
Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Required Experience
Six months of direct or related experience.
Preferred Experience
Experience in higher education.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
