Duties
- Design and implement innovative, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes social-emotional growth, behavior management, and child welfare
- Lead daily classroom activities focusing on literacy education, math skills, physical education, and creative play
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns using clear and compassionate language
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records of child development assessments and standardized testing results
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality instruction and classroom management
- Collaborate with specialists in special education and early intervention to support diverse learning needs including toddler care and childhood development
Experience
- Prior teaching experience with young children in preschool or early childhood settings is required
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
- Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable
- Knowledge of child welfare practices, behavior management strategies, and mandated reporting laws is essential
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures, tutoring methods, and teaching physical education for young learners
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is a plus
Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
