Loving Neighbors Preschool is a full time child care program located in Northern Lakes Community Church. We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our talented and caring team. Loving Neighbors Preschool fosters development of children in their formative years and works with families for their eductional, physical, emotional, spiritual and social development.
Meet all educational requirements above
Willing and able to pass a background check.
Must be able to work both independently and with a team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience as an assistant teacher desired, but not required. Each candidate will be reviewed based on their experience, desire to work with children, and enthusiasm for this role!

Assistant Teacher Job Description:
Classroom / Learning
Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and incorporating them into the classroom.
Foster a positive and caring teaching and learning atmosphere with coworkers and children.
Help maintain an organized classroom.
You will be expected to create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages exploration, play, and creativity along side the lead teacher.
Help support the individual needs of each child.
Clean as needed throughout the day to maintain a sanitary environment for the children.
Family Engagement
Build positive relationships with parents and guardians and communicate regularly about their child's day.
And....
Participate in all staff meetings.
Participate in required emergency safety drills.
Complete all required paperwork and record keeping on a timely basis.
Complete 16 hours of professional development annually on topics relevant to job responsibilities such as Child Development and Learning, Health, Safety and Nutrition, Family and Community Collaboration, Teaching and Learning, Observation, Documentation and Assessment, and Interactions and Guidance.
Within 6 months of hire, complete 45 hours of MiRegistry approved infant and toddler development and care practices.
- Within 90 days of hiring complete the following training on MIRegistry: a) Administration of Medicine, b) Prevention of and response to emergencies due to food and allergic reactions, c) Building and physical premises safety, d) Emergency preparedness and response planning, e) Handling and storage of hazardous materials and appropriate disposal of bio-contaminants, f) Child Development. Participate in all school activities as required by the LNP Director.
