Electrical Department Head, Mission Critical

An independently owned MEP engineering firm with offices nationwide and decades of experience in mission critical design is hiring an Electrical Department Head to lead its electrical engineering team. This firm works on large scale data center projects for some of the biggest names in the industry. This role is based in Boston, MA, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
Schedule: Full-time, in-office
Compensation: $250,000 to $300,000 per year, based on experience
This role leads the electrical department and its engineers, overseeing the electrical design of large data center projects and coordinating closely with clients as well as the mechanical and site teams. The Electrical Department Head designs medium voltage distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, breakers, and cabling, and develops protection and control schemes such as relay settings and relaying diagrams. This person also serves as engineer of record on projects and mentors newer engineers on the team.
- 15 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for high performance facilities, including hands-on data center and mission critical work
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Working knowledge of Revit and BIM
- Experience with medium voltage distribution and protection and control schemes (SEL or Basler)
- LEED accreditation
- Experience mentoring or managing engineering staff
- Experience serving as engineer of record on large scale mission critical projects
