Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials, and different types of cargo will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized trucks such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks across designated routes, including OTR routes.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Transport refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, or dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials regulations, and logistics cargo handling.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks and equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety procedures related to truck loading/unloading and transportation of dangerous goods.
- Strong manual handling skills for load & unload operations; experience with various truck types like flatbed or tanker preferred.
- Excellent navigation skills using GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Ability to comply with all safety standards during over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and local deliveries.
