About 1X
We’re building humanoid robots that work in home - doing the chores, handling the tasks, and giving people their time back. Simple, but it’s not. To do this right, we have to solve robotics, AI, manufacturing - at the same time, at scale, in a form factor that has to be safe enough to live with your family. If you’re inspired by this, you’ll thrive here. We’ve been at this since 2014 and we’re at the point where the hard problems are behind us and the hard work is in front of us. NEO is our flagship - a home robot designed to move, learn, and operate in the real world alongside real people. We’re not demoing it - we’re shipping it. We’re excited to meet you, if this excites you. If you’ve spent your career working on problems that matter and want to see them actually reach the world - this is that moment. We’re scaling, we’re hiring with intention, and we need people who want to build something that will genuinely change how humans spend their time - safely creating abundance for all.
About the Team:
The Robot Services team is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and improving our humanoid robotic fleet as we scale operations. The team works directly on the hardware — identifying failures, executing repairs, validating performance, and feeding real-world reliability data back into engineering.
This group sits at the center of operational readiness and long-term robot reliability.
Your Charter: As a Robot Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and validating complex electromechanical robotic systems. You’ll work hands-on across mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and communication hardware to ensure robots are operating safely and reliably.
Key Outcomes:
- Perform diagnostics and validation testing that identify failures quickly and ensure systems meet operational and safety requirements before return-to-service
- Maintain accurate repair documentation, failure tracking, and service records that support long-term reliability analysis
- Support repair throughput and turnaround targets while maintaining high workmanship and quality standards
Key Competencies:
- Strong hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting and repair capability
- High attention to detail when working with precision assemblies, connectors, and tight mechanical tolerances
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently in fast-paced operational environments
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience in robotics, aerospace, automotive, electronics repair, or other advanced electromechanical service environments
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, work instructions, and assembly documentation
- Experience performing precision mechanical or electrical assembly work including crimping, connector pinning, or torque-sensitive fastening
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with wire harness repair, soldering, or communication networks
- Exposure to structured repair operations, fleet maintenance, or depot environments
