Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Optical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and fitting of optical devices, ensuring high-quality patient care while adhering to medical standards and protocols. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
Duties
- Prepare and dispense optical devices such as glasses and contact lenses based on prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist patients with the selection of frames and lenses, providing knowledgeable recommendations based on their needs.
- Conduct preliminary tests to assess visual acuity and eye health, documenting results accurately.
- Ensure a clean and organized clinic environment, following aseptic techniques during all procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on the latest optical technologies and trends to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Optical office or clinic setting must.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and physiology is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with sales techniques related to optical products is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
