Job Title: Cath Lab Attendant / Transporter
Department: Cath Lab
Job Function: Responsible for both transporting patients and assisting the clinical staff with maintaining lab sanitation, retrieving
specimens, and restocking inventory.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, EMT certification
- Physical Capabilities: Must be able to frequently push, pull, lift, and transfer patients, requiring significant walking and standing.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to calm anxious patients and coordinate with doctors and nurses
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Transport: Safely transfer patients to, from, and between the Cath Lab, patient rooms, and other diagnostic units using stretchers, wheelchairs, or beds.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist licensed staff with safely positioning and transferring patients (using mechanical lifts) onto procedure tables.
- Room Turnover & Sanitation: Help sanitize and prepare procedure rooms between cases, ensuring stretchers are clean, wiped down, and properly made with fresh linens.
- Inventory & Supplies: Restock lab supplies, transfer non-controlled medications, and transport blood or laboratory specimens to the appropriate hospital departments.
- Equipment Management: Retrieve, clean, and organize necessary medical equipment (e.g., EKG machines, oxygen tanks, IV poles) so it is readily available for the clinical team.
- Other duties as assigned.
