Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of menu items, including daily specials and beverage options
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
- Upsell menu items and beverages to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and supporting kitchen staff with basic food preparation or food industry tasks as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining experience or hospitality background
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle guest relations professionally
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, billing, and order calculations accurately
- Previous experience in serving roles such as host/hostess or bussing is advantageous
- Culinary experience or kitchen background is beneficial but not required; a passion for the food industry is essential
