Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking. Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, meats, and other food items.
- Assist in the preparation of menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and storage areas.
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with chefs to ensure timely preparation of meals for catering events or restaurant service.
- Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Support the culinary team during peak hours by assisting with cooking tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Previous experience in kitchen setting is required.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques, food handling, and safety regulations is essential.
- Experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is a plus.
- A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
