Job Summary:
The Bartender is responsible for creating and serving high-quality drinks according to established recipes and standards, providing excellent customer service to guests, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. The ideal candidate is experienced in mixing a variety of drinks, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and committed to upholding the highest standards of service and safety.
RiverWatch is a restaurant-focused bar with a strong commitment to responsible alcohol service. We maintain a firm drink limit and expect our bartenders to enforce it consistently and professionally. Our goal is to provide a fun, welcoming atmosphere while prioritizing the safety and experience of all our guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and serve a variety of drinks, including cocktails, beers, and wines, according to established recipes and standards.
- Greet guests, take orders, and provide excellent customer service, ensuring that guests have a positive experience at the bar.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including cleaning and restocking glasses, utensils, and other bar supplies, and ensuring that the bar is well-stocked with ingredients and garnishes.
- Process payments and maintain accurate records of transactions, including cash, credit, and gift cards.
- Monitor customer behavior and respond appropriately to any issues or concerns, including cutting off customers who have had too much to drink or contacting the manager if needed.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including handling food and equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, including setting up and breaking down the bar, cleaning and organizing the bar at the end of the night, and ensuring that all equipment is properly stored and labeled.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar role in a restaurant or bar setting.
- Knowledge of a variety of drinks and mixing techniques.
- Ability to use POS systems (Toast experience preferred)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
